To begin creating your project, please open the following website.

https://github.com/cvertdev/Computer-Vision-Emergency-Response-Toolkit/tree/CVERT-Competition-Master

This website contains the ”‘master” file. This is the file you will be editing and improving for the competition. To do this, make sure you have your own GitHub account. Once you do, you need to fork this master file to create a local copy. The fork button is on the top right side a little above the file.

To ensure that you have successfully forked the file, check underneath the file name. If it days “forked from…” you have successfully done this!

When you are ready to submit, there are two things you have to remember to do. Remember that your GitHub local copy needs to contain all the updates you have created.

To facilitate this process, Visual Studio can be hooked up to GitHub. There are plenty of tutorials online to do this.

Alternatively, you may download the Github extension (known as Github desktop) and upload your files there.

The third option (not recommended) is to upload through the website. This is a time-consuming process.

After this is done, it is time to upload your files directly to us. Compress the files and upload it to your google drive. (You will need a Gmail account to do this.) Upload your 30-60 second video explaining your project, how it has been improved, and why you should win onto youtube as UNLISTED. We will provide a google form that you will turn in these items to.

If you have any questions about the submission rules, please contact us through the message bar on the FAQ page. We will respond and update our rules accordingly.
